What to expect when you call or chat
You may need to wait before someone is available. When connected, the person may ask what is happening, how you are coping and whether there are any immediate safety concerns.
- You do not need to have the right words.
- You can say as much or as little as you are able to begin with.
- You can ask what will happen next and how confidentiality works.
- You can end the conversation or try another service if the first option does not feel right.
You can begin with one sentence
“I do not know how to explain it, but I am not coping and need someone to talk with.”
